Corp Member Accused of Homosexual Acts With Student Tells His own Side of the Story

Had reported this story a while back and cause the sources were Punch and NAN. 26 years old Sulaimon Abari and 27 years old O'tega Daniel, had been arraigned  in  an Ibadan Chief Magistrates' Court sitting at Iyaganku for allegedly engaging in homosexual practices with a pupil. They were eventually acquitted and the reason the media gave was that the victim's parents had forgiven the accused, so they were released.

Sulaimon took to Facebook, after his release, to tell his own side of the story, to recount his horrible experience after being innocently accused, how he starved for 12 days without food, how someone who was supposed to be his friend sold him out to the media and then he wrote a tearful thank you note to all the people who still stood by him when he was almost giving up.

Please read Sulaimon's heartbreaking note:

MY VINDICATION AT LAST. I couldn't hold back tears when the judge ( a great woman of
impecable wisdom) said: "ur case has been striked out due to lack of evidence against you. And an apology letter should be sent to ur family for all dat was labelled against u and how she had advised me not to take what the media had tried to do to my image seriously, that it is a passing phase and one of those lessons in life". Infact my heart almost jumped out of my chest. I remember how I almost gave up during my trial... I remember how my mom and my younger brother had kept the flames of hope burning and kept telling me all was well... I remember how uncle jamiu abari kept calling my mom and wanted to come to ibadan too... I remember the amazing role my extended family played...
I remember how I didn't eat for 12days (not even a drop of water) and how my mum kept appealing to me to eat... I remember how some of my students had come to court to testify that I had not committed any act of sodomy with them... I remember how I cried... I remember the first, second and third asthma attacks... I remember how I allowed lice stay in my hair... I remember the humiliation, the insult and the curses... I remember the torture at the state CID... I remember my lawyer's words of encouragement... I remember how the person who was suppose to be my friend had sent my photos to the press... I remember all the negative comments by the people I called my friends...I remember the inmate who was convicted of murder whom despite his agonies had prayed for me...I remember Tope Ogunkunle who visited me in prison against all odds and how she cried... I remember how Mrs Ogunkunle (Tope's mom) had called to pray for me and assured me all was well... I remember how my younger brother Al-aleem visited me everyday and had to spend two thousand each day he came...I remember the prison warder whom I told my story and how he cried... I remember on the day of my passing out parade I was in prison... I remember I wore one cloth for 18days... I remember the looks on my mom's face after my vindication, it was a mixture of joy and pity... I remember how my lawyer had suggested we sue the complainant and how my mom had said NO!!! That it wasn't worth it...I remember how I looked back at the prison after my release... I remember how my assumed best female friend had antagonized me behind me... I remember how I couldn't read the news in the paper... I remember I wrote a short story (A tale of a wasted life) and never knew I would be a victim of my own story...
I sincerely don't know why tears is running down my face as I write this...

To all who stood my me, prayed for me and sent good will messages all I can say is THANK YOU and GOD BLESS.

- To my mum (a woman with the body of a queen and the heart of a brave lion) I can't find the right words to thank you.

- To Alhaji Sadiku (I won't forget how u wore one cloth for ten days all because of me),

- To my younger brother Al-aleem, all the time we went to court u would hold my hands and assure me all was well - thanks a billion times.

- To uncle Jamiu Abari u are indeed a force to reckon with,

- Uncle Ibrahim, mr Aroyehun, mr Hassan, Alhaja Balogun may God bless you, Omolade and Olalekan I won't stop thanking God for having u both in my life,

- To Tope Ogunkunle and Mrs Ogunkunle against all odds, u stood ur ground, prayed for me and infact Tope visited me in prison. thanx for the luv u showed. I will forever be grateful to u,

- To my extended family "The Abari's" and to those who were at least sensible enough to call my family to find out what the real story was, I would say but a big thank you to all of you,and to those who upon hearing the news and had to pass judgement (even without proper probe) I would say " when a story is told it is important we find out the truth about such a story before passing judgement or assigning blames in other not to run into what I like to call the dangers of a single story and misrepresentation. A great lesson learnt.

Fast Rising Hollywood Actress Lupita Nyong'o Talks About Black Beauty And Also Dencia's Whitenicious At BWHL

The Essence Black Women in Hollywood Luncheon held yesterday February 28 at The Beverly Hills Hotel in LA...and Oscar nominee Lupita Nyong'o was one of those honored at the event which had Oprah, Tyler Perry, Kerry Washington, Michael Ealy and many other black Hollywood heavyweights in attendance.

Accepting her award, Lupita gave one of the most powerful speeches about self-acceptance and loving yourself just the way you are. Her message basically is; Black is beautiful and you really don't need Dencia's Whitenicious.

Lupita's acceptance speech at Essence Black Women in Hollywood Luncheon:

Thank you Alfre, for such an amazing, amazing introduction and celebration of my work. And thank you very much for inviting me to be a part of such an extraordinary community.

I am surrounded by people who have inspired me, women in particular whose presence on screen made me feel a little more seen and heard and understood. That it is Essence that holds this event celebrating our professional gains of the year is significant, a beauty magazine that recognizes the beauty that we not just possess but also produce.

I want to take this opportunity to talk about beauty, black beauty, dark beauty. I received a letter from a girl and I'd like to share just a small part of it with you: "Dear Lupita," it reads, "I think you're really lucky to be this Black but yet this successful in Hollywood overnight. I was just about to buy Dencia's Whitenicious cream to lighten my skin when you appeared on the world map and saved me."

My heart bled a little when I read those words, I could never have guessed that my first job out of school would be so powerful in and of itself and that it would propel me to be such an image of hope in the same way that the women of The Color Purple were to me. I remember a time when I too felt un beautiful. I put on the TV and only saw pale skin, I got teased and taunted about my night-shaded skin. And my one prayer to God, the miracle worker, was that I would wake up lighter-skinned. The morning would come and I would be so excited about seeing my new skin that I would refuse to look down at myself until I was in front of a mirror because I wanted to see my fair face first. And every day I experienced the same disappointment of being just as dark as I was the day before. I tried to negotiate with God, I told him I would stop stealing sugar cubes at night if he gave me what I wanted, I would listen to my mother's every word and never lose my school sweater again if he just made me a little lighter. But I guess God was unimpressed with my bargaining chips because He never listened.

And when I was a teenager my self-hate grew worse, as you can imagine happens with adolescence. My mother reminded me often that she thought that I was beautiful but that was no conservation, she's my mother, of course she's supposed to think I am beautiful. And then…Alek Wek. A celebrated model, she was dark as night, she was on all of the runways and in every magazine and everyone was talking about how beautiful she was. Even Oprah called her beautiful and that made it a fact. I couldn't believe that people were embracing a woman who looked so much like me, as beautiful. My complexion had always been an obstacle to overcome and all of a sudden Oprah was telling me it wasn't. It was perplexing and I wanted to reject it because I had begun to enjoy the seduction of inadequacy. But a flower couldn't help but bloom inside of me, when I saw Alek I inadvertently saw a reflection of myself that I could not deny.

Now, I had a spring in my step because I felt more seen, more appreciated by the far away gate keepers of beauty. But around me the preference for my skin prevailed, to the counters that I thought mattered I was still un beautiful. And my mother again would say to me you can't eat beauty, it doesn't feed you and these words plagued and bothered me; I didn't really understand them until finally I realized that beauty was not a thing that I could acquire or consume, it was something that I just had to be. And what my mother meant when she said you can't eat beauty was that you can't rely on how you look to sustain you. What is fundamentally beautiful is compassion for yourself and for those around you. That kind of beauty en flames the heart and enchant the soul. It is what got Patsey in so much trouble with her master, but it is also what has kept her story alive to this day. We remember the beauty of her spirit even after the beauty of her body has faded away.
And so I hope that my presence on your screens and in the magazines may lead you, young girl, on a similar journey. That you will feel the validation of your external beauty but also get to the deeper business of being beautiful inside.

***Great Speech Lupita though am a man but this speech defininately speaks to very Black persons on planet earth, Never ... I mean Never be ashamed of your skin type or colour cause that what signifies who you really are. #TeamBlack #TeamExtremelyDark #TeamDarkAsNight #TeamAfrican ***

Another ASUU Strike 2014 Might Commence, See Why!

It seems that everything is starting afresh again in Nigeria academic sector, which we previously believed must have been resolved in the year 2013.
According to dailyschoolnews nigeria, the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASSU, is currently accusing the Federal government of reneging on some of the agreements that led to the suspension of a six-month strike that grounded the university system last year.

What brought about the strike is also the VERY SAME problem which might capitalize into this if not well taken care of.

The academic union of Universities has through its National Treasurer, Dr. Ademola Aremu, lamented that the Federal Government was yet to honour her agreement with the Academic union that clearly stats that N20 billion would be released at the beginning of each quarter to meet identified needs in the universities.

According to the union national treasurer, Aremu who during a chat with newsmen at the Post Graduate Hall, University of Ibadan, said: "This is February and the government is yet to release the money for the quarter, which they were supposed to release in January 2014."

The treasurer also went further to stressed that the call was necessary to avoid the embarrassment that the last strike caused the nation.

In his exact words: "All the strike ASUU had embarked upon in this country were basically because the Federal Government failed to honour agreements freely entered with us.

"It is also sad that each time before we begin the strike, we would give the government enough warnings and grace to make them retrace their steps. But they always fail.

"We don't know why the government is always unwilling to implement the documents signed by their representatives. However, we will continue to fight for the system because if the system collapses, we will collapse with it."

In his own comments, ASUU chairman, UI chapter, Dr. Olusegun Ajiboye, said it was unfortunate that successive governments in Nigeria failed to learn from history as they always wait till major standoff with their members before doing the needful.

He expressed appreciation to the Nigerian media for standing by ASUU during the struggle, adding that the support was not really for the members, but for a better Nigeria.

Currently, Most federal and state Polytechnics are striking and nothing has been done about it, the question is this:

If ASUU commence another strike, when will it end?
When will the ASUP strike be called off?
Is the Nigeria educational sector crumbling?
Who is to be blamed for all of these set-backs troubling the educational sector?

I Charge N1m To Write a Song – Harrysong

Harrysong, aka Mr Songz, who is currently living large under his new management, KCee's 5Star Music, said in an interview with Punch:

"Before now we (songwriters) charged between N100, 000 and N2000, 000 for a song. Today I charge as much as 1million to write a song. Truth is, Nigerian artistes have begun to appreciate songwriters. They pay me my money and appreciate me. I have written a lot of songs but I don't talk about them because Nigerian artistes don't like it when the songwriters take credit for compising songs for them."And that's not all! About his Tribute song to the late South African leader Nelson Mandela,  released on December 11, 2013, which received a stunning one million downloads in a single day, an excited Harrysong says:

"The proceeds from the caller-back tune is actually worth more than N50m. Truth is, I was paid a lot of money;  you know -  when they say money that can change someone's life. That's the value of what I received .

"I can't reveal the exact amount because we work as a team. So, all the money realised is shared among us. You just want to forget all the years of suffering. It's not a mere hype because the money is there. The song is everywhere. You go to South-Africa , the girls are crazy about it."

Saheed Balogun Denies Abandoning his 1st Daughter Or Being Under a Curse

Recently Yes International Magazine reported that actor Saheed Balogun was cursed by his first wife for abandoning her and his first child.
Well, a shocked Saheed has reacted to the story in a new interview with ENCOMIUM.

Let's talk about key issue. Recently, there was a social media report that your first wife cursed you, that's why your marriage to Fathia crashed. Not only that, the report also added that you have not seen your first daughter, Zenat, that you abandoned her to her mother. What's your reaction to this?

A: I wasn't the only one that was shocked when they posted it. I believe the whole world was also shocked to read that kind of publication. Even the child they wrote about was also shocked. It was a blogger who only likes blackmailing that reported it. He didn't even stop at that, he also sent it to all his Blackberry contacts. Then when Zenat saw it, she was just crying. My daughter called me that same morning she saw it, and started crying. She said, 'Daddy, What's all this? I saw something now that you have not shown me for the past 12 years. Is this the way this country is going to pay you back, instead of appreciating what you're doing?' I now told her, it's not like that, but what she saw  was the handiwork of some people who think they have the power to blog, and they can post anything they like. Let them go ahead and be posting their rubbish. The shocker was that a lot of people saw the girl acting in my movie recently. Did she fall from the sky to join the cast of the movie? The same guy who wrote that I have not seen my daughter in the last 12 years used the picture of myself , Zenat and Khalid in that same blog not long ago. That means somebody must be sick. Please, help me ask them, the public should also ask them what they want. We need to rest for God's sake. The whole country is in disarray. They don't write about that or suggest anyway forward, I keep wondering  if there is no law in Nigeria again. A lot of these things are  happening and we fold ours arms. Those doing this are blackmailers. They are only looking for a way of making money. And the same set of people are complaining about the president, that means if they are allowed to rule, definitely they will deceive us just like they're doing  now with their blogs.                                                                                                    Journalism is a very good profession and I believe as a journalist, if you see a story or you're told of anything about somebody, you need to investigate before putting your pen on paper. And as a blogger, you don't just jump to your blog and start posting what you didn't confirm, and people will now start reacting. But special thanks to Almighty God, since they posted it people didn't even react to it because it shocked them. That's why I keep saying, help me ask these people if there is anything they want from me. They should just voice it out, instead of embarking on cheap blackmail.

Q: Are you sure your daughter is happy with you and you see her often?
A: Yes, there is no problem between me and my daughter. We are happy. People should just think deeply before they write anything. They shouldn't write to ruin other people's tomorrow because of money.

Q: How old is Zenat now?
A: My beautiful, good looking angel is 15. Like father like daughter, she is much okay. Let the president, ministers or governors be aware, if any of their sons is willing to take her for a wife, they are free (laughs).

Q: What of her mother who they said had cursed you?
A: She is fine also, we talk regularly. We are happy people. She is very happy where she is, I am also happy where I am. Everybody is just looking for a way forward. My daughter, Zenat wants to be a movie producer and director. So, when you see a happy home like this, is writing something like that the good way of making them happier or spoiling their joy? So, those involved in blackmailing should check themselves.

Q: What of the curse by your first wife, how true is it and when exactly did that happen?
A: I don't know anything like that o. What I think is that some years back, there was this kind of rubbish that was written by a magazine but was cleared. So, I don't know where they got that.

Q: Are you saying nothing like that happened between you and your first wife?
A: Nothing like that. You can also see from my Facebook. Okay, my daughter featured in my two films, Alanu Aye mi and Eti Keta. So, if there is any problem, would she have participated in any movies? With due respect, there are some fantastic and hardworking bloggers, I give it to them. But we have some whose main job is to blackmail.

Q: There is a tale that you're planning to wed your new lover, how true is that?
A: That's good news and am happy to hear that. Let's wait and see.

Q: Are you denying that? We even heard that she is pregnant for you?
A: I have told you, Let's wait and see. I have no comment on that.

Q: Lest we forget, We learnt you and Fathia share the same birthday, how true is it?
A: It's true. We were born on the February 5 but not the same year. We were even born in the same hospital.

Q: What's the name of the hospital?
A: That's military Hospital, Enugu.

Q: Is that why you're like two drivers in a bus?
A: No comment, please.

Q: Are you still saying you can't reconcile with her?
A: Please, no comment. Thank you.

Mourinho Mocks His Strikers

In a recording, aired on Monday by French television station Canal Plus, shows Mourinho commenting on the Blues' lack of depth up front and questioning the age of Cameroon forward Samuel Eto'o.

"The problem with Chelsea is I lack a striker," he said. "I have Eto'o but he is 32 years old, maybe 35, who knows?"

Such comments have made many headlines and are understood to have irritated Mourinho, who did not know the light-hearted exchange was being filmed.

The remark about Eto'o is understood to be a reference to the supposed doubt about the true age of some African players.

Chelsea have not disputed the authenticity of Mourinho's comments but are adamant that they were supposed to be light-hearted and not meant for broadcast or publication.

15-Year-Old Boy Was Exchanged For Two Bags Of Rice In Lagos

A yet to be identified man on Monday successfully traded a 15-year old boy, Seun Aderinwale, for two bags of rice valued at N20,000 at Igando in Alimosho area of Lagos State. According to eyewitness account, the man, whose address is unknown, went to 4, Ifesowapo Street, Igando, on Monday morning to buy two bags of rice from a shop owned by a woman identified as Iya Ibrahim.

The rice seller was not available at the time but her son, Ibrahim, agreed to the man's proposal to drop Seun, an Aluminium apprentice, as collateral, in order to collect the two bags  of rice and return later to pay. However, when the shop owner returned in the afternoon, she was surprised to see Seun who was dropped there in exchange for the two bags of rice taken away by the unidentified man. When the man failed to return, the 15-year old was held hostage until evening when the pastor of his church, a Celestial Church of Christ around the area, saw him at the shop looking despondent.

When Seun was questioned on how he came about the fraudster, he said he met him casually at Hotel Bus Stop about 300 metres to his residence where a church member had sent him on an errand to play lotto, popularly known as "Baba Ijebu". Seun said he did not know the man's house or have other information about him.

The teenager later regained his freedom when the Celestial Church pastor, known simply as Oluso in the neighborhood, settled the matter with Iya Ibrahim, the rice seller. He said the woman should take responsibility for one of the stolen bags of rice while Seun's father, a co-worker with him in the church, should pay for the other bag of rice when he returned from his trip to Ifo in Ogun State. Seun's  father agreed to pay N10,000 for the bag of rice when he returned from Ifo.

P.M.NEWS learnt that the rice seller agreed to the pastor's proposal and did not report the matter to the police.

"If I report the incident to the police, I cannot leave the station without spending money. Therefore, it is better for me to accept the proposal by Oluso, the rice seller told residents who gathered in front of her shop to watch the drama.

When Ibrahim was questioned why he allowed such an unusual arrangement, he told residents that the conman asked for two and half bags of rice, adding, "when the motorcycle was about to go with the two bags, I asked for the money but Seun assured me he was coming back for the half bag. He even claimed to be a close relation of the man."

However, some hours after the man had disappeared and failed to return, Ibrahim said Seun retracted his earlier statement, saying he did not know the man.

Singer Essence Replies Reporter Who Says She Is Broke & Hops On Bikes

Singer Essence has replied the reporter who says she is broke and now jumps from one okada to another. Essence said in a new interview that she is not broke, and as a matter of fact, she has acquired two cars ever since her former car got stolen. She also says she is in a relationship with a Nigerian based overseas and that's why she shuttles the country coupled with her foreign shows. Read what she said after the cut.

I have bought two cars since the incident. I have two RAV 4, a silver and another black.  I feel very insulted when somebody opens a blog and writes rubbish about people.  I saw the story myself, the writer has no address just the uninformed piece of trash the person wrote on the blog.  Internet is free, anybody can just wake up and open a blog and write rubbish.  The person wrote that I borrowed a car from my cousin, at least, I have a cousin that I borrowed a car from.  People abroad called me to tell me all these stories and they laughed because these are the same people who saw me on Oxford, Manchester, Dublin.  They just laughed it off.  If I am broke I won't have the money to go to all these places.  Even if my partner sponsors me, it can't be all the time because I also do shows abroad.

Very unintelligent report, the writer should go to motor licensing office and cross check my name among car owners in Nigeria.  If I trek while in the UK it means it's cheaper to move around without your car unlike in Nigeria.

Coach Keshi Drops Uche Ikechukwu From World Cup List For Bad Behaviours,Replace With Joseph Yobo.

Nigeria coach Stephen Keshi appears to have shut the door on Ikechukwu Uche for the 2014 World Cup. Keshi, who had given a hint about his relationship with the striker soon after he released the squad list for the friendly match against Mexico, has maintained that the player lacked tactical discipline.

Keshi, who spoke with MTNFootball.com from his base in the United States, said, "Ikechukwu Uche is not a player I have not seen play. Ike Uche's problem is not about not knowing how to play football. His problem is that he wants to dictate how we play in the Super Eagles; he wants to tell us that the system we're playing is not good.

"Uche has a very bad habit; if you put him in a game, he will not play to instructions and he did that in the final of AFCON (South Africa 2013) against Burkina Faso; he almost cost us the game.
Again he did that against Zambia, in the second match when (Efe) Ambrose was given a red card. He was doing the opposite of what we told him to do."

A member of the Technical and Development Committee of the Nigeria Football Federation confirmed Keshi's statement. The member said that Keshi's stance on Uche was a major issue when the list for the game against Mexico was released, but the coach has refused to give the player a second chance.

He said, "Of course we asked about Uche when we discussed the list with him. As you know, he had already travelled and so defended via a conference call . He said Uche was a big distraction to the team going by the player's attitude. As a matter of fact, after much talk on the player, he concluded that Uche's problem was such that both of them could not be on the same team and so he has to coach the team to Brazil without Uche. But if he must play, then somebody else has to coach the team. It is that bad."

The Spain-based player has been one of Nigeria's most reliable goal scorers this season and has scored 12 goals this season for Villarreal. On Monday night, the striker returned to action after he was sidelined by injury for two weeks. He last featured for Nigeria in the final of the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations against Burkina Faso.

Keshi added, "And if you don't respect your teammates and you don't respect the team, then there is no point. I know he cannot do that in his club, then why do it in the national team?  I don't think I need a player like that in the team."

Joseph Yobo who had been overlooked since February 2013, has been recalled for the match against Mexico.

See A White Robber Who Disguised As A Black Man To Rob Banks In Ohio Arrested

A white man who disguises as a black man to rob in Ohio has been arrested by the Police. Conrad Zdzierak, 30, wears a black mask which makes him look like someone else before carrying out the task. A black man in the State was wrongfully accused and arrested for one of the six robberies carried out by Conrad. Zdzierak's masked resemblance to the black man was so similar that some witnesses even identified a photo of the black man as the one who robbed them. In another similar manner, the mother of the wrongly accused man even thought a photo of the robbery suspect she saw on television was that of her son.

Zdzierak was arrested at a hotel after his girlfriend called police when she saw reports of the robbery and found two masks and money stained by dye that is used to track robbers. Conrad pleaded guilty on Monday and has been charged to court.

In all, he stole $15,000 when he robbed four banks, a credit union and a pharmacy that occurred in March and April last year. He faces up to 35 years in prison if found guilty.

A.C Milan Striker Gets 18-Month Jail Sentence

Mbaye Niang, who joined Montpellier on loan last month from AC Milan, has been sentenced to a suspended 18-month jail sentence after a hit and run car accident.

The 19-year-old Frenchman admitted hitting several cars before crashing his Ferrari into a tree earlier this month.

He was charged with causing unintentional injuries, endangering people's lives, a hit and run and driving without a licence. The prosecutor had asked for 170 hours of community work but the court handed him the suspended sentence instead.

Eleven people, some of whom were slightly injured, had filed a civil complaint.

"I panicked," the player told a Montpellier court on Monday, when asked why he never stopped after hitting the vehicles.

Francois Lafont, lawyer for the plaintiffs, said: "It was pure craziness. It´s not just an accident, this is assault. Ten people could have been killed."

Ugandan NewsPaper Publishes Lists Of The Country's 'Top 200 Homosexuals'

A Ugandan newspaper has published a list of the country's 'top 200' homosexuals, a day after their president signed their anti gay bill into law which punishes 'aggravated homosexuality' with life in prison.

The Red Pepper, a Ugandan tabloid, ran the names of 200 people it claims are homosexuals, and the list includes prominent Ugandan gay activists such as Pepe Julian Onziema, as well as a popular Ugandan hip-hop star and a Catholic priest.

Few Ugandans identify themselves publicly as gay, and the tabloid's publication of alleged homosexuals recalls a similar list published in 2010 where a prominent Ugandan gay activist, David Kato, was beaten to death after the Rolling Stone newspaper - which has no affiliation with the American magazine - called for him to be hanged.

In 2011 the then-editor said he had 'no regrets' over the article, as it was exposing wrongdoing, but a Ugandan judge later condemned the outing of homosexuals in a country where gays face severe
discrimination, saying it amounted to an invasion of privacy.

Reports say more than a dozen Ugandan homosexuals have fled the country since December over safety concerns to neighbouring countries.
