Chelsea FC new signing Pedro has revealed that Chelsea fans have Andres Iniesta to thank for him landing at Stamford Bridge this summer. 'The Spain midfielder (Iniesta) who broke Chelsea hearts in 2009 with a last-minute goal that sent Barcelona into the Champions League final instead of Gus Hiddink's side was the driving force behind Barça allowing Pedro to move. He said in in an interview in Marca published in Spain on Thursday;
'I had a lot of conversations,' said Pedro. 'But perhaps the most important was with Andres when it seemed that I was not going to leave. 'I explained my situation to him and he supported me and helped transmit to the club that I was not content and that they should do everything possible to allow me to leave. 'He behaved like a fantastic captain and a great friend and it made a big impression on me.'
Pedro's decision to go to Chelsea raised eyebrows at Barcelona where Mourinho's 'Clasico Wars' are still fresh in the minds. But the former Barça forward said working for him was very different to having to face him.
'People might think it sounds strange but in a one-on-one situation Mourinho is very different. He treats you like one of his family. 'He shows huge respect for his players. His demands are high but if there is criticism it's so that we can improve and become stronger, he said…
