"Music they say is a universal language. It is also a weapon and an instrument of peace. The younger generation is often influenced by this powerful tool of entertainment and fun."
This is how Femi Jubal, Vice President of ThreadYork Group, summarizes the purpose for their recently launched record label - ThreadYork Music.
"The Nigerian music industry", he says at the company's new year party, "is one of those sectors with great potential yet untapped. The monopoly in the industry, and the lack of enthusiasm from capable prospective investors, are some of the reasons why musically talented, young Nigerians are left like sheep without shepherd."
Mentioning that the mission of the organization is diversification, Femi Jubal also emphasized the need to invest in raw human talents as passionately as any other field.
Also notable at the ceremony was the signing of the label's first official artiste, EZE - a Political Science graduate of the University of Abuja, who is reputed to be a creatively original music artiste, dedicated entrepreneur, versatile performer, and prolific singer/songwriter with over 16 years of music experience.
His debut hit single, JAGI, is scheduled to premiere this Valentine's.
Lovers of excellent music all around the world are urged to wait for this as it promises something different.
Although details of the contract remain undisclosed, ThreadYork VP Femi Jubal assures the general public that the structures they have on ground is not only solid, but attractive as well; to investors and talents alike. And with the network of change artists being built, the results would certainly speak for themselves.
Buttressing the point, ThreadYork Group partner/consultant Daniel Ubi affirms ThreadYork Music to be Africa’s number one independent record label with a strong focus on Artiste Management, Music production, Distribution and Marketing.
