Goldie Harvey was a sensational artiste and a budding musician with a lot of prospects. Armed with a Degree in Business Management from the University of Sunderland, Mrs Harvey took the Nigerian music industry by storm. Shortly after returning home to Nigeria after the 2013 Grammy Awards in Los Angeles, California, she complained of a headache and had to be rushed to hospital where she gave up the ghost. She lost her life after spending 31 years on earth. The ever jovial Goldie who was good friends with popular comic, Denrele featured on the 2012 edition of Big Brother Africa where she was heavily criticized for not portraying the Nigerian nation in a respectable light. Oladapo Olaitan Olaonipekun also known as Dagrin was a legend on the rise. His album, CEO (Chief Executive Omo Ita) gained so much widespread acceptance that one would not fail to congratulate his 'jazz man' for a job well done. With hits like 'Molenu bi' and 'Kondo', Dagrin who died at 23 was the messiah people were desperately searching for in the arena of Yoruba music. He took Yoruba rap from the hands of people like Lord of Ajasa and made it into music that people who didn't understand Yoruba could appreciate and relate to. He paved the way for others like Olamide, Q Dot and Lil Kesh to rise up and make a fortune from spitting Yoruba lyrics. Dagrin was loved by many and will always be remembered for generations to come.

Kefee Obareki Don Momoh was a prolific gospel singer with a powerful voice and a big heart. She began her singing career at the age of 8 as a vocalist in the children's choir in church after which she progressed to the adult choir when she was 15. She became choir director at the age of eighteen. Kefee's songs, "Branama" and "Kokoroko" which featured popular Nigerian hip-hop artiste, Timaya, have earned her numerous awards and widespread recognition. She died of lung failure in 2014 after 15 days in coma which began after she slumped on a plane.

Gretti Many Nigerians may not have known Zara when she was alive but her death touched the hearts of a lot of people. The gifted songstress who lost her life at the age of 28 battled with multiple sclerosis for 2 years before giving up the ghost. For those who do not know what multiple sclerosis is, it is deadly disease in which the body's immune system eats continuously away at the protective tissue covering it called Myelin. Myelin damage could lead to irreversible damage of nerve cells. Zara had hit tracks like Abokuku, Flyest, and Teno. A struggling artiste making her way to fame, her battle with the disease also spilled into social media as she pleaded tirelessly with Nigerians in cyberspace to help save her life. She died way too soon.

CynthomaniaShe was preparing to launch a full fledged takeover on the Nigeria music scene. Unfortunately, she didn't live to see her plan come to fruition. Cynthomania was a rising star who had hit songs like 'Ukwu Aje Butter" and had worked with industry giants including Timaya and Patrick Ellis. Fondly referred to as Ada Owerri, she died in her 20s after a brief illness and it came as a shock to many as she was just about to release her debut album.
MC Loph
Obiajuru Nwaozo better known as MC Loph made headlines when he collaborated with popular highlife musician. Flavour N'Abania to do a remix of Chief Osita Osadebe's hit track, Osondi Owendi. The track was featured on his second album titled 'Hands Up'. His death was an epic tragedy. He died in an auto-crash on his way to Anambra State in preparation for his traditional marriage. MC Loph, who hailed from Umunze in Anambra State, died at the age of 38. He was the only son of his mother and he rendered his mother childless as his elder sister who was the only daughter of his mother also passed away in the auto crash. Shortly after, his mother also passed away. Many people may not know this but Loph actually stands for 'Lord of Pure Hip-Hop'.
