Political Mockery: Poem By DEMILADE OYELAKUN

Hemlock, our national wine

Reserved exclusively for the few

The few who dare to be non-conformists

How kind of these political gladiators

Salutations to the slayers of what once was

A dream

A dream slaughtered by superb stupid reforms

A dream butchered by myopic leaders

A dream annihilated by greed and selfishness

The dream died.

However, there is hope of resuscitation

If we believe and take to heart this philosophic words

That it is only "a dream deferred……. A glory held

Till the sweetness of the final hour"

Then we can save this dream by picking up the gauntlet.
