US Sprinter Torrin Lawrence Dies In Car Crash

Reports say the Team USA athlete was involved in a car accident after his car was struck by a tractor-trailer. He was driving in Georgia when his car blew a tire and came to a stop, TMZ reports.

Lawrence, 25, recently won a gold medal with the U.S. in the 4×400 relay at the IAAF World Relays.

USA Track & Field CEO Max Siegel has issued a statement over his death. 'Torrin represented USATF with pride and passion, and had an incredible future ahead of him. We join those who will miss him deeply'.

Lawrence holds the NCAA record for fastest indoor 300m sprint.
