Nike Shares Inspirational Story Of Africa’s Fastest Woman, Nigerian Athlete Blessing Okagbare!

BLESSING OKAGBARE-OnoBello (1)

To herald the #AfricaSoFast Campaign, Nike, shares the inspirational story of Africa’s Fastest woman, Blessing Okagbare, with the world.

Blessing, the 26-year old world-class sprinter and long jumper, is already the fastest woman in Africa — her best of 10.79 seconds is the continent’s 100-meter record — but the Nigerian athlete is less concerned with maintaining her ranking than she is about beating herself.  “It’s all about setting goals and keeping your mind set on those goals. Don’t ever give up on yourself.”

In a no-holds barred conversation on her loves and likes, showcasing her arduous journey to the top of her game, Blessing shares her love of gospel music, almonds and her favourite Nike Training Shoes. With her sights set on the upcoming World Track & Field Championships in Beijing, Blessing shares her inspirational journey on Nike.com.

We wish Blessing Okagbare the very best at the upcoming Championships, as we root for her to bring Gold medals and a sporting spirit that further showcases the determination and earnestness of African athletes.
