University Of Ibadan Shut Down Indefinitely By Vice Chancellor

1According to THE WILL, The University of Ibadan was today, shut down indefinitely by the school’s Vice Chancellor following a protest on campus by students of the institution.
Below is how they’re reporting it:

The University of Ibadan in Oyo State has been shut indefinitely by the school’s Vice Chancellor, Professor Idowu Olayinka after students launched protests on campus to express their dissatisfaction over the expulsion of a 500-Level Petroleum Engineering student, Michael Tunji Ekpeti, who was one of the key figures that led a protest last semester, when one of the halls of residence did not have water or electricity for over two weeks.

The V.C., in a brief announcement Tuesday on Diamond FM, the institution’s station, directed students to vacate all halls of residence by 4 PM.

Student union leaders are however urging students to ignore the Vice Chancellor’s directive and continue their protests.
