Wanger Ayu’s SS16 Collection Is All About ‘A Little Blue Life’

Fast rising fashion brand, Wanger Ayu is out with its Spring/Summer 2016 collection tagged ‘A Little Blue Life’.

First previewed under the British Council Fashion Focus series at the Heineken Lagos Fashion and Design Week 2015  the collection consists of pretty pieces all in riveting shades of blue.

Speaking on the collection, the designer Wanger Ayu says: “Blue is more than a colour. Blue is life. Not just a mere expression, blue is a self exploration, my sober reflection

of things unseen, of things believed, of chaos and calm and the things that I seek. Blue is more than a colour. Blue is me.”

A Little Blue Life is a short collection that offers a range of skirts with wings, pleat and flare jumpsuit, dresses and separates. The collection explores the tension between the idea of the colour blue as hard and its potential to be soft and easy through textures, prints and frills, by drawing inspiration from some of the most beautiful blue things in life including the Blue Morpho Butterfly and blue roses. There is an unmistakable Northern influence further acknowledged through the styling.
