The immediate former President of Nigeria, Goodluck Jonathan has said he is proud he laid the foundation for Buhari to fight and defeat Boko Haram insurgents. While speaking Wednesday night during a programme titled, ‘Focus on Africa’ aired on an international news and current affairs television channel based in Paris, France 24, the former president said, the equipment they bought are the ones the President is still using and they have been recording breakthroughs with them. He said;
“Of course, you know the new government is working hard and I believe they are still using the equipment we procured.
“The 2016 budget is still being debated and no new equipment has been bought. So, even what the new government is still using to prosecute the war is the equipment we procured. I believe that with what we left behind, and the new ones they would acquire, this issue of Boko Haram will be taken to a logical conclusion.”
He also refused to comment on the recent happenings in the country saying it is a very sensitive issue and he won’t be saying anything about it now.
