Smiling together with the newborn future king sleeping in his mum’s arms, these pictures show the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge at their happiest.
Bundled tightly in a white blanket Prince George is cradled by his mother Kate, while the radiant duchess is showing no signs of the sleepless nights caring for the royal tot.
These official pictures - released today by Kensington Palace - show the little prince for the first time since he left St Mary’s Hospital in Paddinton, Central London, with his mum and dad on July 23.
In a significant break from royal tradition, the two snapshots were carefully selected from the Cambridges’s own private family album.
And instead of picking a celebrity snapper for the exclusive job of photographing the third-in-line to the throne, the new parents decided the honour should go to Kate’s dad Michael Middleton.
The former BA pilot, 64, took the relaxed shots of his first grandson earlier this month in the grounds of the £4.7million Georgian mansion Michael shares with Kate’s mum Carole in Bucklebury, Berks.
One shows the delighted parents standing up as they cuddle Prince George in the shade of a tree, with Kate wearing a pink summer dress and William in a light blue shirt.
