The 10cm Fork in The Patient's P*nis
Doctors have operated on a 70-year-old man to remove a fork from his penis.
The patient went to hospital in Canberra, Australia, in agony after jamming the 10cm piece of cutlery into his appendage for sexual pleasure.
Doctors were able to feel the fork from outside and these incredible x-ray images showed the object wedged into the man's penis.
Medics managed to remove the item using forceps and "copious lubrication" - but the patient had to go under general anaesthetic.
The doctors said that it was unusual to see objects lodged in the urinary tract.
“It is apparent that the human mind is uninhibited let alone creative," they said.
Writing in the International Journal of Surgery Case Report, they listed other objects found in other patients, including wire, Allen keys, toothbrushes, light bulbs, thermometers, plants, vegetables, leeches, snakes and glue.
Many patients try to remove items that have become stuck themselves because of embarrassment - but usually just make the injuries worse.
