MD/CEOs of Access and Sterling banks arrested over another set of Diezani’s secret funds

Yesterday, officials of the EFCC raided the headquarters of Access Bank Plc. and Sterling Bank of Nigeria, in Lagos, and arrested the bank’s MDs, Herbert Wigwe and Yemi Adeola respectively.
.
.
EFCC said they traced more than $88m to a hidden account controlled by Yemi Adeola. An EFCC source told Saharareporters that the money was transferred to Adeola from Fidelity Bank of Nigeria, whose MD, Nnamdi Okonkwo, was last week arrested by the EFCC.
.
.
Okonkwo was granted bail late yesterday. This $88m is said to be different from the $115m given to Fidelity Bank by the ex-oil minister, Diezani Alison-Madueke, to be used to bribe INEC officials to rig the 2015 presidential election for GEJ. Adeola allegedly kept the $88m as an “off-record” transaction
.
.
Also, the MD of Access Bank Plc., Wigwe, was arrested and quizzed regarding a $5m laundered through the bank by officials of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA). The $5m was also traced to Diezani and was routed through Zenith Bank
