JUMIA, official sponsor of the 3rd edition of Abidjan "Dîner en Blanc"

Abidjan, the 4th December 2014—Abidjan's Dîner en Blanc relaunches its third edition this year Saturday, December 6, 2014 to illuminate the city of Abidjan in partnership with Jumia Côte d'Ivoire, the first website of e-commerce in Côte d'Ivoire.
What is the "Dîner en Blanc" concept?
The concept of the Dîner en Blanc was created 26 years ago in Paris by François Pasquier and a handful of friends. His son,Aymeric Pasquier, overtook the concept of Montréal to make it international with more than 40 participating cities and 5 continents. The Dîner en Blanc of Paris now hosts nearly 15,000 people each year. The international network counts over 150,000 participants every year, and extends from New York City to Mexico City, via Singapore, Barcelona, and now Abidjan!
In 2012, Eric M'Boua, promoter in Canada and artistic director of the Dîner en Blanc in Montréal, decided to import the concept in Côte d'Ivoire, his country of origin. Thus, he associated with friends in order to organize the 2012 edition in Abidjan with the official license of the "Dîner en Blanc"
The presence of the Dîner en Blanc in Abidjan reveals the rise of social and cultural life of the Pearl of the Lagoons, but also the exclusive and innovative trait of the events.
The Dîner en Blanc is a giant picnic in an unusual public place kept secret until the last moment, where people gather once a year. It usually takes place in one of the most beautiful city sights inserted into urban life. Elegance, friendliness, and good manners are the prerequisites to the Dîner en Blanc. TheDîner en Blanc wishes to promote good education, namely gallantry and noble values that were part of our past society, but also the sharing, of speech and of food.
But beware; the Dîner en Blanc is an evening like no other which includes certain rules. Taking place in a public, often busy place that is not intended for this purpose, the event must be supervised:

1.
The clothes and the decoration of the participants must be white.

2.
Participants arrive and leave in buses chartered by the organizing committee. Nobody goes there on his own.

3.
Everyone should clean up their table and leave the siteclean

In order to bring its innovation seed to the event, Jumiadelivered all the invitations to the homes of the participants to make them enjoy the highest luxury and comfort, allowing them not to go beyond their doorstep to get their invitation.
Jumia partnered with this event to promote the cultural and social scene in Ivory Coast, but mostly to highlight one of the main values that defines its proper essence: "community", which is said "Jumia" in Swahili. Jumia want this event to be the emergingresult of friendships between people of different origins and backgrounds.

The partnership with Dîner en Blanc is another testimony of our commitment to brighten Ivorian people's lives.  Our obsession with customer satisfaction is at the heart of Jumia'sDNA, thus it almost seemed natural to partner with this festive and qualitative global event. Jumia is the official deliverer of happiness of Ivorians and we will spare no effort to continue to prove it every day", declared Fatoumata Ba, Managing Director of Jumia Côte d'Ivoire.
