Sam Smith Said He Knew He Was Gay At Age 4

Sam Smith may have come out as gay before his debut album, but what we didn't know is hat he already knew at age 4, and his mother knew he was gay at age 3...fascinating.

In his interview with Ellen Degeneres which is below, he says the songs on his debut album are mostly about his failed relationships with men.

"I kind of just felt like I needed to mention it before I released the record so people knew what it was about," the 22-year-old said. 

"And it felt like a brave thing to do as well I wanted to do it before because if I did it afterwards people probably would have thought I was lying just to sell records," he added.
