1000 school kits distributed to pupils at Yopougon Kouté schools
Abidjan, 15th September 2014 – On the 15th September 2014, 2,850,348 Ivorian children will be returning to school. To coincide with the new school year, JUMIA is launching a campaign to distribute free school kits in support of the #TOUSALECOLE (School for All) cause. The campaign targets children in years CP1 to CM2 (aged between 6 and 11) of public primary school, and in particular students in the most disadvantaged neighbourhoods of Abidjan.
This campaign will be launched by JUMIA and the National Ministry of Education on Thursday 18th September 2014, and will first reach a group of pupils from schools in Yopougon Kouté.
On Thursday 18th September, the JUMIA team will set off in the "Jumia trailer" from the administrative district (parking lot D) and travel to the village ofYOPOUGON KOUTE to distribute 1000 kits to a group of students drawn from four primary schools.
These kits, prepared by La Librairie de France, comprise a backpack containing plastic sleeves, exercise books, a pencil, an eraser, pens, a slate and chalk. In addition to this, all pupils will also receive a free t-shirt.
The trailer will be welcomed by the traditional chiefs of the village, the office of the COGES (Comité de gestion des établissements scolaires, or Committee for the Management of School Establishments), the students and their parents, and the teachers.
The ceremony will be given particular significance by the presence of the following members of the National Ministry for Education and Technical Education:

This donation fits in with the political vision of the Ivorian government between now and 2020," stated Mr. Bakary Ouattara, deputy director for school kits and textbooks in the National Ministry for Education and Technical Education.
