Yoruba Movie Academy Awards To Honour Faleti, Ishola

Ibadan - The Yoruba Movie Academy Awards (YMAA) plans to honour renowned actor Adebayo Faleti and leading academic Prof. Akinwunmi Ishola.

Also to be honoured on March 30 in Ibadan are Kola Ogunmola and Bisi Komolafe, both deceased Yoruba artists.

A statement issued by Tunde Oshinibosi, Executive Producer of the YMAA, said the award was a strategic move to re-brand and reposition the Yoruba movie industry toward achieving greater heights.

"We will continue the award because it is a motivational gesture to seek increased the promotion of the Yoruba culture, race and ideals globally.

"Also, it is meant to honour and celebrate creativity among Yoruba movie actors and actresses as they propagate the Yoruba movie industry globally," he said.
