Vimbai who is currently in South Africa touring the country has announced that she will be hosting the inaugural New African Woman Awards in London on the 10th and 11th March 2016, the Forum will be accompanied by the New African Woman Awards gala dinner, which will celebrate and recognise women’s leadership and excellence on the continent.
Speaking on this, she said:
“I have received several offers to host events outside the continent, but I was waiting for the right platform and opportunity and nothing could be more appropriate than a global platform that celebrates the success of African women. New African Woman Magazine is a global leader, and it means so much to me that they have given me the responsibility of hosting such an important milestone for them. This is the perfect way for me to be ushered into the international media space and I am beyond excited to take my talents outside of Africa for the first time”.
To celebrate her new gig, she collaborated with Nigerian photographer Reze Bonna for a photoshoot celebrating the dynamism of African Women. The underwater shoot signifies and celebrates the tenacity that African Women have to survive and thrive outside of their regular comfort zones.
