Nollywood is agog as the most downloaded Black American model and actor, Ngoli Okafor is expected at the premiere of OXFORD GARDENS, his first Nollywood film. The event scheduled to hold at the Genesis Deluxe Cinemas in Lekki holds on Friday, December 18.
Okafor, who is a two time Golden Gloves Champion in American has starred in several Hollywood films and played a boxer in the new Nollywood film produced and directed by Obi Emelonmye for the Africa Magic Original Film series.
Describing how he attracted him to Nollywood, the producer of Oxford Gardens, Obi Emelonye said: “The cast is led by Ngoli Okafor. I was looking for an international actor that had professional experience in boxing to make the fight scenes real and believable. And he was perfect. He was Golden Gloves (height of amateur boxing in America) Heavyweight champion...twice.
He is a Hollywood actor that has been in films with the likes of Catherine Zeta Jones. He is a super model and the most downloaded black male model online. And he is Nigerian and wants to bring his experience to Nollywood. He plays this ex-boxer, down on his luck and in search of redemption.
So you have a fresh, great-looking and imperiously competent leading man for Nollywood audiences to get their teeth into.”
The film also features acts like Ngozi Igwebike-Thompson,Savanah Roy, Iffy Chukwu, Princess Abiye, Frank Ani, Nnenna Ani and 8-year old D'Richy Emelonye.
