KZN songstress, Sibahle, has taken the music industry by storm with her debut single,Ungenza Nje, produced by the legendary Mojalefa “Mjakes” Thebe who has produced music for the likes of Zahara, DJ Sbu, Naima Kay, Kelly Khumalo and Choppa just to name a few.
Within the space of a few weeks, Sibahle’s Ungenza Nje has already been picked up by radio stations across the country such as Gagasi FM, Umhlobo Wenene, Tru FM, Magos Media Airport Radio, Mdantsane FM, NWU Radio, Rhodes Music Radio, Tshwane FM, TransAfrica Radio, UCT Radio, VOW FM, Vukani FM, Inanda FM, Eldos FM and Bush Radio and is expected to gain more traction across the country over the festive season.
When asked to explain the meaning of her song, Sibahle shares: “The song is about what everyone hopes for when looking for love, someone who will love them and they love them back the same way whether male or female, everybody wants to find the same kind of love. The hook, “Yini Sthandwa sam’ ungenza nje nje nje” it’s about when you are at that point where you about to give up on love and you just find someone and you say “why ungenza nje” where you feel all giddy and happy inside that indescribable feeling. I hope to inspire people not to give up on that kind of love. I’m a realist but still a romantic at heart!”
A music video for Ungenza Nje was recently shot and will be released in November. Sibahle is currently working on her debut album which promises to feature a variety of SA Soul and Afro Pop talent. Sibahle hopes to soon be seen performing at large music festivals across the country.
