One of the survivors of the World War Two’s most famous prison break, known as the Great Escape, has died aged 101.
Australian Paul Royle was one of 76 airmen who escaped from Nazi Stalag Luft III camp in Nazi-occupied Poland in 1944.
It was reported that Mr Royle died in a Perth hospital on Sunday after surgery for a fractured hip.
His son while speaking with Australian Broadcasting Corp said his father lived his life to the fullest.
Seventy-one years ago, the men escaped through a secret tunnel built from the Nazi camp.
