Marvel has announced that it will be dropping Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker/Spider-man.
The franchise, which had previously belonged to just Sony, was headed for major changes after Marvel reacquired some of the rights.
In an announcement today, Sony & Marvel revealed that Tom Holland will now play the web-slinging super hero.
The next Spider-Man film, which is due July 28 2017, also gets a new director in the person of Cop Car director, Jon Watts.
Producer Amy Pascal saidd, "Sony, Marvel, Kevin (Feige) and I all knew that for Peter Parker, we had to find a vibrant, talented young actor capable of embodying one of the most well-known characters in the world. With Tom, we've found the perfect actor to bring Spider-Man's story into the Marvel Cinematic Universe."
