For the last couple years hats have been making an amazing comeback with celebrities like Pharrell making them even more popular especially after he wore the amazing vintage, oversized Vivienne Westwood hat and it's been amazing to see how every fashionista in different parts of the world style their hats.
Hats have evolved to become timeless accessories and can be used as an accent or to complete an outfit with a create a touch of personal style
The first rule before you rush out to get yourself a hat is to understand the difference between a fedora and a trilby and figure out what type of hat would suit your face and your style.
Let's take a look at four of the most popular hats that are bang on trend –

The Trilby

A Trilby is simply a narrow brimmed Fedora, it has a shorter brim which is angled at the front and slightly pushed up at the back. The Trilby can be worn to the side, pushed forward or right on the center of the head, it really just depends on your personal style.
It is traditionally made from rabbit hair felt but as the style has become more popular it is now made from different materials like tweed, straw, wool and nylon blends. The great thing about the Trilby is that works easily with casual and formal clothing.
The Pork Pie Hat
Ladi Poe
The Pork Pie hat has a round crown and a short flat top, and a narrow brim and also features an indentation all round the top.
The Pork Pie hat was considered to be a staple in the British man's wardrobe and it is currently enjoying a revival and I think its going to be around for a while. A favourite of mine, I love the style, fit and versatility of the pork pie hat.
It can be styled with anything from, slim fit blazers, denim, white t-shirts,slim fit chinos and the perfect pair of work boots or loafers. Or if you are style risk taker why not style your Pork Pie with a nice vintage silk scarf.
The Fedora
The now familiar fedora was hugely popular in the 40s and has stuck around as a classic accessory. The hat is creased lengthwise down the crown and is pinched in the front of both sides. With the fedora back on trend, the crowns style now vary from the tear, diamond or even center dents (like Pharrell's infamous Vivienne Westwood hat).
Of all the hats the Fedora lends itself to personal expression and style due to the variety creases of the crown, the pinch at the front and the snap of the brim.
The fedora works well with slim silhouettes – think slim fit denim mod style tailored trousers or slim fit suits and finish the look with loafers or brogues and vintage style glasses.
