2Face said young people often go unnoticed even though they work very hard in various places, educating people and helping to manage conflicts and promoting peace. They have become community leaders in peace building, reconciliation and post conflict reconstruction, thereby establishing themselves as the next generation of leaders.
He says these young unsung heroes must be celebrated as the Nigerian centenary celebrations in 2014. The R 'n B legend who spoke to the News Agency of Nigeria will be giving away N6m as cash to 6 lucky winners in the different categories.
The categories include Women-led Peace Building, Youth Peace Building, and Peace building in the environment (for those having conflicts over resources). The remaining categories are projects on urban violence and community peace building, the use of technology or social media for peace building and mediation directed at reducing violence against women and girls.
Winners also stand the chance of attending key global peace summits and exchange programmes in 2014.
