Kanu, Okocha, Amokachi Others Set To Hit Glo CAF Awards Tomorrow




Avid followers of Nigerian football will have another change of seeing some of their stars that graced the pitch in the 90s together as ex-internationals like former Super Eagles Captain, Austin ‘Jay-Jay’ Okocha, Emmanuel Amuneke  and Daniel Amokachi are expected to the Glo -CAF awards gala night in Abuja tomorrow, Thursday 7.

Ivory Coast’s and Manchester City’s star Yaya Toure will be competing with Ghana’s Andre Ayew and Gabon’s Pierre-Emerich Aubameyang for the top honour.

Also expected at the star-studded event are former African footballer of the year Kanu Nwakwo and 1997 winner Victor Ikpeba, as well as ex- Super Eagles defender, Celestine Babayaro and his brother, Emmanuel Babayaro.

A two-time BBC African player of the year, Okocha distinguished himself in Europe with Einthract Frankfurt, Fernabache, Paris St Germain and Bolton Wanderers is also expected to grace the event

All the ex-internationals will converge in the nation’s capital, Abuja, where they will have the opportunity to meet and interact with other stars and possibly recreate a feel of the good old days and the best years of Nigerian football.
