Today, Fuji is arguably the most popular ethnic Nigerian music. In Lagos alone, there are over 10,000 functional Fuji bands, according to the Fuji Musicians Association of Nigeria. Of course, they feed a culture of felicity. It is customary for them to roll out the drums during a myriad of ceremonies including marriage, naming, house-warming and the like.
Recently, fast rising Fuji musician, Adekunle Olorunfunmi better known as Kunle Marckenson was the cynosure of all eyes at the just concluded “Marc
kensona Fans & Friends” in collaboration with the keystone Fuji band at Legacy “B” Motel & Resort, Olambe Ijoko road, Akute, Lagos.

Kunle can claim to have seen it all, as far as Fuji music is concerned. He began his Classical Fuji music about thirty years ago with inspiration from Alhaji Wasiu Ayinde. A productive recording artiste, Marckenson has arguably brought greater innovation to Fuji music like other colleagues.
In a chat with Afrikana.ng, the Ijebu born Classic Fuji artiste revealed that although changes are bound to occur in every human endeavour so as to get audience most especially in the entertainment industry, but his style of music can never change rather he will have more fans, “Fuji can never die down reason been that every day, we make research and has the world is trending, we trend with our Fuji style, although i have music as a talent in me”.
