Nigeria's Perpetua Nkwocha to end international career.


Sweden-based Nigerian football legend, Perpetua Nkwocha will be calling time on her illustrious career after the Women's World Cup in Canada which kicks off in few weeks. The Four-time African Footballer of the year who will be making her 4th appearance at the tournament after featuring in the 2003, 2007, 2011  revealed this to BBC Sport


"This will definitely be my last world cup appearance and I want to make it count. Our success at the last African women championship shows that we've got a very competitive Super Falcons side.


"I am surrounded by a some experienced players and talented young ones, I believe we'll give it our all in Canada." The 39 year-old said.‎


The veteran striker in an interview last year disclosed that she plans to become a coach after retirement. She was voted African Women Footballer of the Year in 2004, 2005, 2010 and 2011 by Confederation of African Football (CAF). With the Nigeria national team, she has participated in three CAF Women's Championship (2002, 2004, and 2006), winning all three of them.‎
