Popular Nigeria's instant messaging service 2go according to latest reports has over 13 million users and the mobile instant messaging service 2go is Nigeria's biggest social network. 

Communications consultancy Africapractice in a report titled 'The Social Media Landscape in Nigeria', said the country's next biggest social network is Eskimi with 8.8 million users, while WhatsApp has 6 million. Facebook has 6.5 million users in Nigeria, ITWeb reported.

The success of increase in sign up for 2go messaging service is based on the fact that they perform well on lower bandwidths and use less data, and are a cheaper alternative to SMS.
