David Moyes Sacked By Manchester United

Manchester United have finally lost patience with David Moyes and sacked the Scot.  Rumours first surfaced on Monday that Moyes was set to lose his job, with club sources telling ESPN his sacking was "imminent".

However United finally announced Moyes' departure on their official Twitter account today's morning

Moyes had already been informed of his fate and thanked club staff at the training complex in anticipation of his departure. The players were not present at the time.

The Glazers handed executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward the mandate to dismiss Moyes less than 12 months into his £4million-a-year, six-year contract after United's defeat at Everton 2-0 on Sunday confirmed their failure to qualify for next season's Champions League. United are confident of landing Holland coach Louis van Gaal as his replacement once they have tied up details of the manager's severance package.
