It's that time of the year again in Barcelona where mobile phone giants release new models of their ranges...Samsung no exception.
But the question is did Samsung release a device worthy of being called an evolution from it's previous flagship...or is it just another copycat?
In a bid to bolster sales of the disappointing Galaxy S5 last year, Samsung yesterday, release a duo of flagships, the Galaxy S6 & the S6 Edge.
Galaxy S6
It packs a QHD 5.1" Super AMOLED screen, protected by Gorilla glass 4 and an amazing pixel density of 557. Samsung on the whole this year ditched Qualcomm, so what is under the hood is the company's Exynos Octacore 64bit processor made by Sammy itself; and a smashing 3GB of RAM.
The home key stays with the fingerprint sensor and supports the new Samsung Pay service. Samsung's Pay service relies on NFC and Magnetic Secure Transmission (MST) for mobile payments.
It has a new ISOCELL 16MP back camera and a 5MP FFC, and runs Androids 5.0 Lollipop enhanced with the latest TouchWiz UI with Material design and cleaner interface. The device will be available in White Pearl, Black Sapphire, Gold Platinum & Blue Topaz.
The Galaxy S6 is powered by a 2,550 mAh battery.
Galaxy S6 Edge
Taking note from a minute success from the Note 4 Edge last year, Samsung decided to release another flagship, a lot like the Note 4 Edge and a not-a-lot like the Note 4 Edge, the Galaxy S6 Edge.
It is powered by the same internals as the Galaxy S6 and sports the same camera optics. However the design is slightly different on the front. The edges are curved, making it feel like a different device altogether.
The device will be available in White Pearl, Black Sapphire, Gold Platinum & Green Emerald, and is powered by a 2,600 mAh battery.
Both devices come in 32/64/128GB of internal storage and will be available at the middle of April, April 20th.
