40 Years Old Widow Caught With A Day Old Dead Baby In A Sack In Lagos

A 40-year old widow who simply identified herself as Mujidat was caught on Wednesday with a dead day old baby she hid inside a sack around her residence at 2, Reverend Alimi Street, NEPA Phase I, Ijagemo in Iba Local Council Development Area of Lagos State.

P.M.NEWS learnt that a member of the community, High Chief Babatunde Balogun caught the mother of seven when she was  trying to dispose the baby at about 5 p.m. on Wednesday. When questioned on the content of the sack, she claimed she was coming from the market where she bought some household items. However, on a closer look, Balogun discovered that the sack contained a dead day old baby the woman allegedly had just delivered.
He then called the attention of the other residents.

Neighbours told P.M.NEWS that after Mujidat's husband known as Baba Mushin died about three years ago, they have seen men visiting her residence, the house built by her late husband.
When asked if she planned to throw away the baby because of an alleged paternity mess, she denied, claiming  that a welder turned block maker near her residence was responsible for the pregnancy that resulted in the birth of the dead baby she was caught with. She claimed she took delivery of the baby by herself because she found it easy and therefore did not go to any hospital or sought anybody's  help.

At about 9 p.m yesterday when P.M.NEWS visited the area, residents of the area were still milling around the residence of the woman.
Officials of the Community Development Association, CDA, in the area later accompanied the woman and her sack of baby to the Isheri-Oshun Police Division where the matter was reported. At the time of this report, the woman was still being interrogated.

They came to me. And get this, I actually had to think about it.

But next time, Kanye, if we can agree to squash this, I will decline and tell them to ask Kim. Will that make you happy? Will that end classism? Will the inclusion of your born-rich future wife break down the walls that my trailblazing old-ladyness seeks to build up? Just let me know.

Because, at the end of the day, who really needs to be on the cover of Vogue for a third time?

Also Aisha is now my official name though Liz is still my name and I will continue to use the name to do movies.

Nollywood star Rita Dominic and Hollywood actress Lynn Whitfield have been announced as the ambassadors for the Africa International Film Festival (AFRIFF).

The announcement was recently made by Chioma Ude, the Executive Director and Founder of the Africa International Film Festival.

Chioma said maintained that Rita's amazing achievement as a Nollywood actress as well as Lyn's Hollywood successful career were the motives for choosing the two as the festival's Goodwill Ambassador.

Nigerian Embassy In Spain Rescues Nigerian Children Seized For Adoption.

If not for the timely intervention of Nigerian embassy in Spain,a Nigerian couple would have lost their kids to surrogate parents in Spain. Three of the children were taken and separated from their parents about two years ago while the youngest, was taken from his mother immediately after delivery at the hospital.

According to the father of the siblings, Chris Osinachi, who lives in Murcia, Spain, the children had been in custody of Spanish authorities for quite a while. Narrating his story at Madrid Barajas International Airport, hours before they boarded flight to Nigeria, he explained that he had left home to search for job and his sick wife who was being taken to the hospital pleaded with their Spanish neighbors to help look after the kids pending her return. But unknown to the woman, the neighbors had another plan,

When Osinachi returned home, he was told that the kids had been handed over to the Spanish Social Security Workers. When he and his wife approached the social security agents, they were denied access to the children. The agent insisted that they would not be allowed custody of the kids until they showed proof that they could take care of the children. The proof included verifiable source of income, accommodation and others things.

The couples found it challenging to meet the conditions as the family survived on the income of Osinachi's wife. Whilst they were denied custody of their children, the couple had another baby on August 20, 2013. Immediately after the delivery at the hospital, the baby was also seized by the Spanish authorities. Whilst the couples were in dilemma, they got information that their kids were to be adopted,but God sent timely intervention in the person of a Nigerian Embassy staff, Deputy Consul, Nze Nnamdi .The kids were eventually handed over to their parents for  deportation to Nigeria. On October 3, 2013, the kids aged six, four, three, and a month old, with their parents and a female staff of the Nigerian embassy in Spain, were among passengers on board Iberia Airline flight 3336 from Madrid to Lagos.

Reacting to Anene's claim through his publicist, Okafor said there is no iota of truth in what Anene said. "Dr Chris Okafor had not at anytime met with this pastor," the publicist, Sunday Adeyemi, said in a statement made available to newsmen.

He added that, "if this pastor has any evidences to prove, he should present it either through camera or photo or otherwise and he will be rewarded handsomely." 

Adeyemi also stated that, "we are not set to fight anybody on this issue, but we want to set the record straight that Okafor is not mentoring this said pastor in the vineyard."
He disclosed that Christianity is not about fighting or pulling down another man of God."

Nollywood Actor, Ray Daniels Okeugo Dies After Brief Illness

Actor and photographer Ray Daniels Okeugo died on the evening of Friday the 25th of October 2013, in Lagos, Nigeria at the age of 33. Okeugo acted in many soap operas and home videos before taking into photography. His burial arrangement is being planned by Lagos state chapter of Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) led by Victor Osuagu.

It is with deep regret that we announce the passing on of our friend, brother and member Ray Daniels Okeugo. This incident took place on the evening of Friday the 25th of October 2013, in Lagos, Nigeria. Until the mentioned day, he was a founding member of Invisible Borders Trans-African Photographers Organisation, and has been behind every success of the Organisation's activities since its inception. As a photographer and an actor in the Nollywood film industry, he will be remembered for his unquenchable energy. He exudes the demeanour of "the last man standing", and this goes a long way to highlight our shock at his sudden exit from this world, after just a brief illness. Everyone who knew him can attest to the fact that he carried within him an undying urge towards selflessness. He made himself readily available and good to go no matter the situation. We will miss him everyday henceforth, and nothing will ever be the same with his indefinite absence. But in all, we will hold on to the good memories we shared with him. We may have lost him, but he has not lost his place in us – his legacy will be upheld by this organisation which benefited immensely from his nature always to give.Our heartfelt condolence goes out to his family and friends, and we wish them strength to bear this irreplaceable loss.

Boy, 14, Rapes Nine-year-old Girl To Death In Lagos

The police in Lagos State have commenced investigation into how a nine-year-old girl died, after sustaining injuries caused by alleged consistent rape.
According to police authorities, the deceased was raped over five times, by a 14-year-old student, Onyi Adimabua, in the Ikorodu area of the state.

The father of the deceased, Simeon Jigo, told PUNCH Metro that Onyi is the son of the proprietor of the school his daughter attended.
He said his daughter opened up about the rape when she started having medical problems.

The 77-year-old man said his daughter died on October 3, 2013. He said:

"Up until my daughter's death, she was a pupil of Fulfilled Greenland School, Ikorodu, and she was in primary three. One day, she came home and started complaining of pains around her vagina, stomach area.
We rushed her to Ikorodu General Hospital. A doctor checked her and after conducting some tests on her, told us that my daughter had sustained medical complications due to forced sexual intercourse.

I was alarmed by this; so, I had a private discussion with my daughter. She told me that it was her school proprietor's son, Onyi, that had been raping her. The boy had threatened to kill her if she ever told anyone about it."

The indigene of Ondo State told PUNCH Metro that after initial treatments, he took his daughter to Arogbo in Ondo State to be taken care of but her condition continued to deteriorate.

A few days after the troubled father travelled to Ondo State, Onyi, accompanied by his parents, also travelled to Ondo State, to apologise to Jigo's family. The girl, however, was said to have died that very day. 

"On getting to the house where my daughter was, we discovered that she was dead. Onyi confessed that he had been raping my daughter prior to her death,' Jigo said.

PUNCH Metro learnt that after the girl's demise, irate youths in the area attempted to lynch the 14-year-old boy. The bereaved father was said to have intervened and reported the matter to a nearby police station, where the teenager was held for safe keeping.

The next morning, Onyi and his parents travelled back to Lagos.The alleged rapist's parents, in company with a chief in Ikorodu, reportedly visited Jigo when he returned to Lagos.
The group were said to have pleaded that the bereaved father should not pursue the case but he refused. Jigo said:

"I went to the Ikorodu Police station to report the case but was surprised when the policemen on duty said I should not write any statement.  They only told me to write down my telephone number and said they would call me later.
After waiting for many days without any call, I wrote a petition and the matter was transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Yaba."

It was however learnt that Onyi had been taken to his father's hometown in Delta State thereby stalling police investigation.

The teenager's parents,  however described the incident as the handiwork of the devil.
The 14-year-old boy's father, Andrew Adimabua, said:

"I trained that boy in the way of the Lord and expected so much from him. He has confessed to the act; there is nothing to hide. He told me that he learnt about sex by watching blue (pornographic) films.
We are not hiding him and we will cooperate with the police. On the day the little girl died, he was beaten up and made to stay in the rain for hours. As a result, he contracted pneumonia so we sent him home for treatment. When he recovers, he'll be taken to the police for questioning."

Police Public Relations Officer, Ngozi Braide, who confirmed the incident to our correspondent on the telephone, expressed shock at the development.Braide said Onyi would be re-arrested in the course of investigation.

"It is appalling that a teenager could indulge in such act. The matter is under investigation and the culprit will be re-arrested."

Man Meets Woman He Met On Internet At Hotel, Only To Discover She Was His Son's Wife

A man who met a woman online was shocked to discover that she was actually his son's wife when they met for the first time. Wang, the 57-year-old Chinese man, arranged to meet Lili at a hotel in Muling City in the Heilongjiang province when he made the awkward discovery. If that was not strange enough, Wang's son (and Lili's husband) Da Jun had followed her to the rendezvous after discovering her online liaison and was equally disturbed to find his father waiting for her.

Wang said: 'How could the person who gets a room with me be my son's wife?'In a rage, his son Da Jun allegedly beat Wang and his wife causing her to lose three teeth. Wang, who used the online alias 'Good at understanding others,' had retired two years before and enjoyed meeting people online.
Lili was a stay-at-home mother and her husband Da Jun was a long-haul cargo truck driver who spent long stretches away for work. She went by the alias 'Lonely flowers and plants'.

The pair met on an online chat room one night and decided to send each other a picture of themselves. Lili sent a photograph of an attractive friend while Wang sent one of a friend from his days in the military. Happy with what they saw, the pair arranged to meet at a hotel in the city at 6pm one night. Wang claimed to be the director of a company and that he was single after his wife had died two years before. Lili said her husband was serving a five-year jail sentence for brawling and that she lived at home with her son. On the day of the fateful meeting, Da Jun arrived home from a long-haul trip from Harbin ahead of schedule only to discover Lili's online discussions with 'Good at understanding others'. He also saw evidence of her rendezvous plans.

In a bid to catch her red-handed, Da Jun phoned his wife and told her he had to leave again for work. Not suspecting the ruse, Lili dropped their son off at her parent's house and travelled to the hotel.
When Wang opened the door, Lili was shocked to find that the man was in fact her father-in-law. In shock, she said, 'this was a misunderstanding,' and turned to leave the hotel when Da Jun revealed himself and confronted the pair. Da Jun said: 'I'm out there working my ass off to earn money, half-dead with fatigue, and all the while you two are messing around.'As he beat his father, hotel staff called the police who detained all three.

Officers from the Bamiantong Town Muling City police station questioned Wang and Lili while Da Jun was detained for five days for assaulting his father.

After a successful Kidney surgery in India, OJB Jezreel has been finally discharged.
The ace producer sent out a release stating that he's well, has been discharged and will soon return to the country.

Boyband Jonas Brothers Split Confirmed After Failing To Repair “Deep Rift Within The Band”

The band confirmed – which they say was a "unanimous decision" – following a series of blazing rows, Boyband the Jonas Brothers have left their legion of fans heartbroken after announcing they have split following a series of blazing rows.

Two weeks ago they abruptly cancelled their 19-date comeback tour just days before it was due to begin after a "deep rift within the band" is said to have developed between the three siblings. They fuelled fan fears they were about to split when they deleted their Twitter account.

Despite Nick and Joe taking to their personal accounts last week to beg fans to be patient, on Tuesday [Oct 29] it was announced the band were quitting.

**Confirming the split Kevin, 25, said: "It's over for now."

**Nick, 21, added: "It's really hard to say 'forever. We're closing a chapter, for sure."

**Joe, 24, simply said: "It was a unanimous decision."

It came after a meeting on October 3, where Nick confessed to his brothers that he had serious concerns about the future of the band. "I was feeling kind of trapped," he said. "I needed to share my heart with my brothers."Problems surfaced in the band several weeks ago as the brothers endured several blazing arguments.

Their spokesman, Jesse Derris, said at the time: "There is a deep rift within the band. There was a big a disagreement over their music direction."It is unclear exactly what the issues are between the sibling but according to reports in the US Joe was recently spotted with an addiction specialist.

The singer was photographed with Mike Bayer, the CEO and founder of Cast Recovery Services, who has worked with the singer's ex-girlfriend Demi Lovato. Mike describes himself as 'well known for quickly responding to crisis situations' on his company website. The band formed in 2005, finding global fame after appearing on Disney Channel children's television network.

16-Year-Old Nigerian Girl Named Among World's 50 Smartest Teens

A 16-year-old Nigerian Muslim girl has made headlines when her name emerged in the 'The World's 50 Smartest Teenagers' list. Saheela Ibraheem, who is passionate about many things, "especially" math and science, believes that if one is passionate about what they do, they will succeed. 

A little over a year ago, the girl who was born to Nigerian parents in Edison, New Jersey, the US, has been accepted into Harvard University, becoming one of the youngest students ever to attend that school.

She had to choose from 13 other prestigious colleges, including MIT, the University of Pennsylvania, Cornell, Brown, Princeton, Columbia, and the University of Chicago, but eventually listened to her 7-year-old brother's advice who also dreams of being admitted to Harvard.

Saheela says, at the age of only five she found out the key to success: knowing what you love to learn as early as possible.

Described by others as polite and humble, the girl says her very supportive Nigerian parents sometimes taught her subjects the schools didn't offer.

The teen is also interested in languages, and knows Yoruba, Arabic, Spanish, and Latin, in addition to English.

Offering a role model to her colleagues, Saheela, who dons a hijab, is also into sports, as she plays softball, soccer, and the trombone.

She also sings in the school choir and serves as president of the school's investment club.

The promising girl plans to major in either neurobiology or neuroscience, and hopes to become a scientist in order to study how the brain works.

"I try my best in everything I do," Saheela said, confirming that there is nothing special about her brain. "Anyone who's motivated can work wonders."

Despite her activities, she names her family as her number one priority.

Chris Brown catches another break! According to TMZ, he was released a few hours ago without bail and the assault charge has been reduced from a felony, which could have landed him in prison, to a misdemeanor. He's also required to stay 100 yards away from the man he allegedly punched in D.C yesterday.

Enugu State Gov Sullivan Chime Places Wife Under House Arrest , She Cries Out For Help!

Clara Chime, the First Lady of Enugu State, is at the moment crying out for assistance to reach human rights bodies to come to her rescue as her husband, Governor Sullivan Chime, has placed her under house arrest!
 
In a letter dripping with pain and suffering which was sent to SaharaReporters, Mrs. Chime disclosed that she married Mr. Chime in October 2008 but that she has been unable to share the matrimonial bed with him for over four years.
 
Describing her desperate situation, Mrs Clara Chime said that even President Goodluck Jonathan and First Lady Patience Jonathan have intervened with her husband without success."My father is late, my Mum and few of my siblings are confused and have done all kinds of prayers they know of, 3 of my siblings prefers me dead than to see me leave the Government house.  He treats my mum and my siblings bad," she wrote. The Enugu State First Lady said she has been introduced to two psychiatrists whose names she gave as Dr. Onwukwe and Dr. Agumo, who have prescribed "all kinds of drugs that ends up keeping me acute depressed and also drives me into hallucinations."
The doctors, she noted, are scared of her husband the Governor, to whom nobody can tell the truth.  
 
According to the letter, the Catholic Bishop of Enugu State (Callistus Onaga), and top priests have come to intervene, as have the President and the First Lady of the nation, without success.  
 Mrs. Chime further complains that Governor Chime has ordered her to leave with her four-year old son whom she conceived before their wedding. 
However, the governor, according to her, later threatened to disown the boy should she leave with him. "He has told everyone he can reach that there is no marriage between us that I can leave if I wish to but whenever I plan to leave, he instructs them to lock me in. I have told him through sms that I will leave my son behind and leave alone but still he instructed his securities to lock me inside the house."

Mrs. Chime further complains she has lost touch with the real world and all that makes her beautiful because of the side effects of the drugs she is taking, stressing that she is under house arrest for committing no crime.
 
Of the situation in Government House, she said in the letter:
"He does not take care of me personally, the government gives me allowance to run the house and that's where I save little from to take care of my self, my mum and few of my siblings.  
He shut me out of his life years ago; I don't have access to his apartment. The problem is enormous; I don't know where to start to explain from."

She said that even the security detail in the lodge has resorted to praying for her, while the few that can be bought with money are taking advantage of the situation.
Mrs Chime said, begging:
Police and SS men have been instructed by Sullivan Chime to confine me in a place for a long time now against my wish [but] it is my wish to leave these premises. Please assist me to reach to the human rights and say to them to please come hastily and release me."
