Adam Johnson's Career Is Over- Sports Experts

Adam Johnson has damaged the reputation of football and his career in the game is over, the player's union chief has said.

Professional Footballers' Association chief executive Gordon Taylor also denied his organisation had any hand in the decision to allow Johnson to continue playing for Sunderland after he was charged.

Johnson is spending his first full day in prison today after he was given a six-year sentence for grooming and s3xually touching a 15-year-old fan. He will be released after three years behind bars to serve the rest of the term on licence.

At the age of 31, it is possible the England winger will then still be fit enough to return to the professional game, but Mr Taylor said that is extremely unlikely.

He said: 'I feel the prospect of that is to say the least very remote, if at all.'

Sports experts have said the only chance Johnson has of making money from the game in future would be if he move to the Middle East or China.
