The road to crossing the half billion dollar mark was not, however an easy one for movie producers, Paramount Pictures. The movie reportedly suffered several productions woes including a re-shoot which cost between $15-25 million to pull off after initial movie screenings received some bashing from critics. Inspite of all this, World War Z earned $66 million in opening on June 21 and a total of $197.4 in the United States both of which exceeded Mr. & Mrs. Smith's total domestic gross of $186.3 million and $50.3 million opening weekend. The movie has also earned $305.2 million at the international box office to date.
The figures reaffirm Brad Pitt's status as a box-office hit. His other major box-office smash hits include Troy with $497.3 million and Mr & Mrs Smith. Meanwhile have you seen the movie? What do you think about it?
