AceConnect Present "CONNECTING DREAMS" To Promote Nigerian And African Fashion

Aceconnect is one of the most creative avenue for models, fashion designers, make-up artists and photographers to spread their wings in the fashion industry in Nigeria and Africa as a whole.
Nigeria as a country is filled with untapped talented good-looking youths seeking opportunities to develop their talent and reach their full potential. In the entertainment industry especially the Modelling segment, countless numbers of these youths give up on their dreams and aspirations as a result of lack of proper orientation, narrow and cloudy access to Modelling Agencies, poor profile upbringing, lack of financial support and other wise.

To reduce this disconnection Aceconnect creates system that is willing to develop a platform not just   building and establishing a model but connecting them to their dreams.

Encapsulated by its motto "……. Connecting dreams" Aceconnect is aimed at providing avenue for promoting Nigerian and African fashion in which we have more than in our top societies through tourism on a local/state level and ultimately on the international scales thereby drawing attentions of international and local media establishing a strong partnership with the project.

Khloe Kardashian in Talks to Join Fashion Police after Kelly Osbourne's Exit

Khloe Kardashian in Talks to Join Fashion Police after Kelly Osbourne's Exit

Khloé Kardashian received mixed reviews when she filled in as a special correspondent for E! on the Oscars red carpet, but the network was reportedly thrilled with her. And now, according to RadarOnline, she is in talks to join 'Fashion Police' as a cast member.

An insider tells 'Radar Online':

"Having done several gigs...Khloé absolutely loves being a part of 'Fashion Police.'"

The show is currently embroiled in controversy thanks to an offensive remark uttered by Giuliana
Rancic about singer Zendaya's dreadlocks, which pushed co-host Kelly Osbourne over the edge so much so that she quit the show.

Given Kelly's reported departure, Khloé could be called into action within the next few weeks.

"The timing could work to Khloé's advantage, and make it happen sooner rather than later," the source tells 'Radar.'

Meet Afeso Akanbi Albert An Economist And a Creative Writer..... READ A BOOK BY THIS AUTHOR

Akanbi Albert Afeso is an economist by training, a Planning Officer with the Nigerian Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA) by occupation, and a Creative Writer by vocation. He hails from Ososo, a scenic town of streams and rocks in the undulating Somorika hills in Akoko-Edo Local Government Area of Edo State, Nigeria. Born on the 31 March 1982, by the year 1999, he had completed secondary school in Lagos. After his secondary education, he proceeded to the Delta State University, Abraka in Delta State Nigeria, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics in 2006. He later returned to Lagos to complete his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) program in 2008. Even though he started to write at the tender age of 8, he had considered writing a means of relaxation until one of the major publishing companies in Ibadan, Oyo State Nigeria offered to publish his debut novel Cold Black Night in 2012. This experience was what made him realize that with his remarkable storytelling talent, he could contribute his own quota to making the world a better place by telling the critical stories through his books. Prior to this time, he had never considered going commercial with his works. It was this same experience that informed his enrolling for numerous writing programs, workshops and seminars with the aim of improving himself in the writing craft.

"…by telling the critical stories I hope to draw the attention of those who can help to the plight of those who really need help. Who knows, maybe with the power of my pen I could bring the much needed help to someone somewhere someday…" The above lines mirrors what Afeso considers his mission and purpose in the literary world. Today, apart from storytelling, he also mentors upcoming writers and engages himself in charitable activities. He is also a sought-after motivational speaker who delivers upbeat and informative presentations on topics that bothers on Leadership, Youth Empowerment and Creative Writing.

His works have appeared in various publications including the African Book Club's maiden anthology, THE BUNDLE OF JOY, and Other Stories From Africa, published in the United States, in the fall of 2014 and the Naijastories websites and numerous anthologies both local and international. He is the author of the novels Cold Black Night, November 5 and Men of Straw, all of which were released to international acclaim. Of his books he says:
"….there is no greater joy one than for one to put his thoughts to paper and for such ideas to find readership and acceptability amongst the target audience…."

He is a recipient of the GOTNI Certificate of Achievement, the African Book Club Writer of the Month Award for the month of May, 2014 and numerous other awards. He was at a time the Osun State Coordinator for Society of Young Nigerian Writers (SYNW). Currently, he is a member of the editorial board of the prestigious COPINE Update magazine, a member of the Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA), and a member of the Board of Trustee: Paulash Initiative, an NGO dedicated to helping mentally challenged children, empowering women and advocating the right to education of the girl-child. He has a beautiful daughter. A great lover of books, his best quote is the words of the late American scientist Dr. Carl Sagan:

'….one glance at a good book and you hear the voice of another person-perhaps someone dead for thousands of years ago- Across the millennia, the author is speaking, clearly and silently, inside your head, directly to you. Writing is perhaps the greatest of human inventions, binding together people, citizens of distant epochs, who never knew one another. Books break the shackles of time, proof that humans can work magic….'

US Imposes Sanctions On Owner Of AMIGO Supermarket

US Imposes Sanctions On Owner Of AMIGO Supermarket Abuja!!

The U.S. government imposed sanctions on Hezbollah members and assets on Thursday -- but these sanctions did not hit the Shiite extremist organization in Lebanon, where it is based, or even in the Middle East.

They were levied on three Hezbollah figures, an amusement park and a supermarket based in Nigeria, showing the vast reach of the Iran-backed group. Mustapha Fawaz, Fouzi Fawaz and Abdallah Tahini, all born in Lebanon, are accused of being part of the group's "Foreign Relations Department" in the Nigerian capital Abuja.

The Fawaz brothers, who have citizenship in Lebanon, Nigeria and Sierra Leone, own Amigo Supermarket and Wonderland Amusement Park and Resort in Nigeria. But according to the statement announcing U.S. sanctions, they are really running a Hezbollah front.

"The FRD [Foreign Relations Department of Hezbollah] claims to be in charge of "community relations;" but the primary goal of the FRD in Nigeria is to scout recruits for Hezbollah's military units, as well as to create and support Hezbollah's terrorist infrastructure for its operational units in Africa and globally."

All three men were accused of working with the FRD. Tahini's responsibilities included, according to the U.S. Treasury, recruiting and supporting Hezbollah's African networks.

Blind Blogger/Singer “Lioness Oyinbo” Moved from Norway to Nigeria to Make it Big! Hear Her New Single with Emma Nyra

Lioness Oyinbo Anything for Love
Blind blogger/singer Lioness Oyinbo is a Norwegian-born artiste set to take Nigeria by storm!
She recently spoke to Punch about her ventures and visual impairment. Here are some excerpts!

What led to your visual impairment?

I'm blind from birth due to a detached optic nerve and I'm surprised at how little regular people know about the world of the blind. It's really quite similar to the world of the sighted. I've never seen, but that's why I imagine. And I think it's important that people learn that we are fully independent and can participate at all levels of the society. And that we're just as capable as anyone else. I am also a journalist, fiction writer and singer. In fact, I'm the first white female artiste signed to a Nigerian label. My blog talks about all these aspects of my life, as well as whatever else I may feel like discussing. The blog unintentionally started out as a blog about various issues related to blindness.

Lioness Oyinbo
Lioness Oyinbo
What exactly attracted you to Nigeria?
Although I am from Norway, I really love Nigeria. I don't think I actually chose Nigeria, I think Nigeria chose me. It's a very interesting country. I love Nigerian literature, I love the music. Honestly, I initially wanted to do Reggae/Dancehall in London but that didn't work out so I thought about giving up music and focus on my journalism. Then I published something on Soundcloud that was picked up by my former manager who convinced me to come to Nigeria. Of course I was initially scared because of the bad press Nigeria received in the West. Eventually I got a lot of positive response from some Nigerians I knew and decided to come over here and I have not regretted my decision. Right now I have fully relocated to Nigeria and I am signed to Sweetlife Records.

Talking about your name, what does Lioness Oyinbo mean?

My name is Lynn. I got the Lioness from my hair because it is golden and curly like a lioness. I don't know exactly how but somehow, few of my friends call me lioness in London, but for the oyinbo part, that was Oritsefemi when we did a recording session, he was to do the introduction and he was messing around, calling me Lioness Oyinbo, and since then, it just kind of stuck. Ever since then, my friends here in Nigeria call me Lioness Oyinbo.

Yemi Alade addresses her Hacked Instagram Account: The Erotic Messages That Were Sent to Phyno Were Not from Me

DJ-Cuppy-Stephanie-Coker-Yemi-Alade-Guardian-Life-January-20145BellaNaija008-400x600

A few days ago Yemi Alade had her Instagram account hacked while she was on tour outside Nigeria.

Immediately her PR team took control of the situation but the singer is speaking out about the incident by herself for the first time in an interview with Punch Newspaper.
She talks about losing followers and the messages exchanged between her and Phyno.
I lost over 90,000 followers which made me a bit unhappy. The erotic messages that were sent to Phyno were not from me. It was the hackers that sent it to him. Right from the moment a picture of Snoop Dogg with marijuana was posted, that was not from me. My PR team has been sending messages to instagram but we are yet to get a response. I think it is because we are in Africa; they tend not to attend to our messages on time. But my team in London is working on it even if it means deactivating it. I have a new instagram page now. However, I started my tour on that day and it elevated my mood

She also talks about the age-long question of whether she is dating Nollywood actor Alex Ekubo or not.
Alex Ekubo and I just shot a video together and that was it. Even though we attended some events together, it does not mean anything. We are very cool friends, there is nothing between us

Cultists shoot UNILAG ‘big boy’ At Close Range

Cultists shoot, kill UNILAG 'big boy'

A 23-year-old student of the University of Lagos, Olubunmi Elusakin has been shot dead at a bar around St. Finbarrs in Akoka area of Lagos while relaxing with friends.

His assailants, suspected to be cultists and also students of UNILAG, walked up to him and shot him at point blankrange where he sat, it was learnt.

Saturday PUNCH spoke with a student of the Department of Accounting, who said he knew the deceased.

"His parents had recently bought a new SUV for him. He was such a cool-headed man. But everybody knew him as one of the 'big boys' in the Faculty of Business Administration," the student, who spoke under condition of anonymity, said.

Investigators at the Department of Criminal Investigation, Yaba, Lagos, said the deceased was a 300-Level student.

"From investigation so far, the asailants were not even masked. Our findings revealed that he was sitting at a table inside a bar around St Finbarr's when they walked inside and shot him in the head around 8pm last week Tuesday." a source told our correspondent.

Saturday PUNCH learnt that the remains of the deceased were buried on Wednesday, one week after the incident. An autopsy was conducted on the body on Tuesday.

Police are working on the suspicion that the deceased was killed as a reprisal for a grouse against the cultists even though it has not been established if Elusakin belonged to any cult group.

The Facebook wall of the deceased, who was fondly called BMoney by friends has been awash with condolence messages from associates.

"I still can't believe you are gone B Money. You have always been the most decent and gentle guy I know but death has cut the long story short. Heck, I can't hold the tears rolling down my eyes," one friend, DamolaAjala wrote.

"I am feeling alone, I am feeling very sad. I don't know about my heart. I am thinking about something is lost in my life. B Money, my one and only friend, best friend. Brother from different mother, I miss you so much," Oladipo Dotun, who was said to be the deceased's closest pal, wrote on Facebook.

Another friend, Habibat Adeyinka poured out her emotion, writing, "Bunmi, please wake up. I am ready to say yes. I am going to date you now. Please."

A spokesperson for UNILAG, Mr. Olagoke Oke of the Information Unit, asked for more time to get details about the incident when contacted on Wednesday.

Four suspects have so far been arrested in connection with the attack.

Spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, Mr. Kenneth Nwosu, who confirmed this, stated that efforts were being made to track down the killers of the UNILAG student.

I Am Not Afraid Of Ure, She Can Go To Court - Morgan

Cynthia Morgan has said she is not afraid of Queen Ure who threatened to sue her if she does not drop the title of one of her songs named popori, a title Queen Ure claims she solely has a right too. While speaking with Saturday Beats, Morgan says she is not in any way ready to drop the song title because it does not belong to Ure or anyone and instead, she is making plans of shooting a video for the popular song. She also says instead of Ure 'hating' she would have expected her to support a growing artiste like her. Her words;

"My song, Popori, is still out and I am shooting the video for it very soon. Ure does not have anything on me and I don't have any case with her. Popori is my song. I produced the song and came up with the title. I am from Edo State and I have been hearing the word Popori from my childhood. It was funny when she said that she was the one that invented the word popori and holds the copyright. She cannot even use a copyright for the word. If she had told me that she trademarked the word, then it would have been a separate thing. Even if she trademarked the word, our songs have two different spellings.

"So if she takes the case to a court, I am sure they would say she is being funny. It is just as I bear Cynthia and I decide to trademark the name if someone else spells hers as 'Synthia;' I cannot sue the person because they are two different spellings. It is funny to me because it is like someone saying they invented the word love and no one else should use it. I don't have any problem with Ure and I am not scared of her. We don't have any case. If everyone should do what she did to me, then it means my fellow artistes would be suing themselves over songs like Azonto, Shoki, Caro, and the likes. I think it is a funny situation. Instead of her being a 'hater,' she should be supporting the newer generations of artistes and feel proud that I used the word, popori. It doesn't even make sense to me ".

Piers Morgan: Falling Off the Stage, Madonna, Is God’s Way of Telling You You’re Too Old to Cavort like a H*

Madonna-Piers-Morgan-BRIT-AwardsBritish journalist and television personality Piers Morgan is currently working as the US editor-at-large for Mail Online and has published an article that’s got people talking.
In his write up Piers Morgan addresses 56-year-old pop star Madonna’s epic fall at the 2015 BRIT Awards.
Read excerpts from his post below.
Madonna falls and the world gasps… in laughter.
Let’s be honest, most of us howled ourselves hoarse watching the self-acclaimed Material Girl morph into Material Hurl at the BRIT Awards, Britain’s answer to the Grammys.
For me, it perfectly personified the state of this once great legend’s career: dying on her a** in a pit of ignominy.
I don’t say that with any glee. I say it as someone who used to worship the ground she gyrated on.
I watched Madonna perform at London’s Wembley Stadium in 1987 with a great friend of mine. We were both 22, she’d just turned 29.
We got there early, and drank beer throughout the sun-drenched afternoon, then fell asleep at the back of the stadium only to wake up 20 minutes before show time to find 70,000 people in front of us.
‘Leave it to me,’ I told my mate, and I immediately started marching forward, hands waving, shouting ‘SECURITY, MAKE WAY PLEASE!’
It worked beautifully, the masses parted, and before we knew it, we were right down the front.
The concert, part of her Who’s That Girl tour, was sensational – genuinely one of the best I’ve ever seen.]
She sang 16 smash hits, starting with ‘Open Your Heart’ and ‘Lucky Star’, storming through ‘Papa Don’t Preach’, ‘Material Girl’ and ‘Like A Virgin’ then climaxing with ‘Into The Groove’, ‘La Isla Bonita’, ‘Who’s That Girl’ and ‘Holiday’.
Madonna was at the absolute top of her game; a sexy, exciting, dangerous, riveting pop superstar strutting, writhing and gyrating her scantily-clad torso through a set of stunning technical perfection.
It was magical, unforgettable entertainment.
Cut forward six years and I watched her again at Wembley, this time on her Girlie Show tour.
I hated it. Something had gone terribly awry.
Madonna had become almost a parody of herself. Suddenly all the compelling erotic, youthful freshness of that previous show had been displaced by cliché-d feminist claptrap. She had swapped natural brilliance for attention-seeking antics.
Bitterly disappointed, I wrote a savage review for The Sun newspaper, for whom I was the showbusiness editor at the time, and it was splashed all over the front page under the headline: ‘MAD, BAD AND SAD…the worst gig I have ever seen’.
Unsurprisingly, given The Sun sold over 4 million copies at the time, this didn’t go down very well with Ms Ciccone and a permanent Siberian frost descended over our relationship.
Since then, things have got steadily worse.
I’ve watched this undeniably supremely gifted woman descend into a pantomime freak, on and off stage.
As her music has got less popular – she’s recently been unofficially banned by Radio 1, Britain’s biggest station, for being ‘irrelevant’ – so her stunts have grown more grotesque, desperate and riddled with outrageous hypocrisy.
Asked three years ago before her upcoming MDNA tour if she had any ‘naughty surprises’, she sneered at her old rival Janet Jackson’s infamous 2004 Superbowl ‘wardrobe malfunction’ by saying: ‘You don’t have to show your nipples to be interesting, and it doesn’t mean you’re cutting edge if you do.’
She then promptly, and quite deliberately, bared her breasts in Turkey, where it caused huge offence.
At other times on the tour, she waved her naked backside at an audience in Italy, pretended to shoot people with fake guns in Colorado – scene of the Aurora movie massacre – and brandished Nazi swastikas in Paris.
All tasteless in the extreme, all done purely for headlines.
Last year Madonna even posted Instagram photos of her 13-year-old son Rocco clutching a gin bottle with the words: ‘The party has begun! Bring it!’
As I wrote at the time, what sort of mother puts that kind of image into the public domain, exposing her young teenage son to public condemnation?
A negligent, dumb, self-obsessed and repulsive one. That’s what.
Madonna is as immature as the gormless toyboys she dates and dumps with the zealotry of a pubescent teenager.
